CANDLELIGHT II: PHOENIX RISING TOUR KICKS OFF
Candlelight's second label tour featuring co-headliners Dark Funeral and Enslaved plus newcomers Abigail Williams kicked off last night at Jaxx Nite Club in Springfield, Virginia. The tour makes its second stop tonight at BB Kings Blues Club in New York City before heading up to Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto. The tour is presented by Metal Maniacs, Blabbermouth and FYE.
Candlelight II: Phoenix Rising will visit over 20-US cities before it concludes on February 5. The tour finds the long-awaited stateside return of Dark Funeral and Enslaved. The bands perform hour-plus long sets featuring material from their current albums Attera Totus Sanctus (Dark Funeral) and the critically-acclaimed/year-ending critic favorite Ruun (Enslaved) and more.
Abigail Williams kicks off the tour with the January 23 release of their debut ep Legend, already finding early pre-release acclaim. The band top this week's CMJ and FMQB Mosted Added charts and hit the road after a late 2006 tour of Europe. Kerrang! calls Legend, "The bloody birth of black metalcore. Abigail Williams have taken fresh-faced metal down the left hand path... the result is obscenely exciting."
A few tickets are still available for the Key Club show on Jan 21. To purchase tickets, go to this location.
