In a recent no-holds-barred interview with Peter Kerr of Rock Daydream Nation, LAST IN LINE's bassist Phil Soussan pulled back the curtain on the band's quest for a new vocal warrior following the unexpected departure of Andrew Freeman. Since joining the ranks in 2016 after the tragic passing of the iconic Jimmy Bain, Soussan has been a steadfast force within the band. He confirmed, “It's common knowledge we've separated from the singer that we had before. But we have a person of great interest, and actually beginning of September we're gonna start working together, and it looks very, very promising.”
When pressed for details on the new vocalist who might take the helm, Soussan danced around the question, stating, “I'm not at liberty to do so, but [we should have an announcement] very soon.” He hinted at positive vibes stemming from initial collaborations, while acknowledging the crucial final step of all members jammed in one room together before making any official proclamations. “I'm 95% sure it's gonna be fine,” he affirmed, exuding confidence in the forthcoming lineup change.

On a personal note, Soussan also offered an update on Vivian Campbell's health after the guitarist's cancer diagnosis resurfaced. “I actually talked to him a couple days ago. It was his birthday, so I gave him a call,” he said. “He's out there racing rally cars. This is his passion in life,” showcasing Campbell’s indomitable spirit as he faces adversity head-on.
