Anthrax Unleashes 'Cursum Perficio' and Brew Collaboration with Dark Matter Coffee
The metal titans Anthrax are ready to set the world ablaze with their long-awaited 12th studio album, Cursum Perficio, hitting the streets on September 18 via Megaforce Records. In a twist that’ll make both coffee lovers and metalheads rejoice, they’ve teamed up with Dark Matter Coffee for a limited-edition brew that’s as intense as their riffs. The Dark Matter Coffee x Anthrax “Cursum Perficio” blend is crafted from a washed Catuai from Nicaragua, roasted to perfection to bring out that rich toastiness while maintaining a sweet, nutty profile.
Dark Matter Coffee has also blended this with beans from the Pacas Family in El Salvador, creating a concoction that boasts a symphony of chocolatey notes interlaced with a refreshing hint of citrus. As Anthrax's own Charlie Benante puts it, this coffee is “a piping hot mug of chocolatey and nutty notes balanced by a sweet citrus finish,” making it the perfect companion to the high-octane experience that is Anthrax.
The band recently dropped a new music video for their explosive track, “Everybody’s Got a Plan,” filmed on July 7 in Lisbon during their tour with Iron Maiden. The video is a whirlwind montage of live performance footage and backstage antics, capturing the sheer thrill of life on the road. Benante highlights the song's brutal honesty, stating, “Everybody’s got a plan/That’s until they get punched in the face,” a mantra that resonates deeply with metal fans everywhere.
To celebrate the impending release of Cursum Perficio, Anthrax will host a late-night in-store signing event in Louisville, KY, right after their performance at the Louder than Life festival. Fans looking to snag an autograph from Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna, and Jonathan Donais will need to pre-order the album from Guestroom Records, ensuring that only the most dedicated get their hands on this coveted experience.
With Cursum Perficio, Anthrax delivers a powerful statement, marking their first full-length offering in a decade since 2016’s For All Kings. Recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606, this album promises to be a visceral journey, an exploration of the band's storied past while pushing the envelope of their signature sound. With a plethora of exclusive formats available for die-hard collectors, including various vinyl options and exclusive merch, it’s clear that Anthrax is ready to reclaim their throne in the metal hierarchy.
