NAILS Unleashes 'Fear Based Life' with Closed Casket Activities

Oxnard, California's relentless metal outfit NAILS has solidified their status in the extreme music scene by signing with Closed Casket Activities, a move that’s been brewing for over a decade. To commemorate this pivotal moment, the band has unleashed a blistering new seven-inch titled 'Fear Based Life,' which serves as a savage appetizer for their forthcoming fifth full-length LP set to drop in the summer of 2027.

In a statement oozing with gratitude and respect, NAILS expressed how fortunate they feel having collaborated with stellar labels throughout their existence. "There hasn't been a bad label that the band has worked with; they’ve all been instrumental in shaping our journey," they stated. This partnership with Closed Casket Activities is particularly meaningful, as the band has relied on Justin Louden for insight and guidance since 2011, making this signing feel like a natural evolution.

NAILS' new release, 'Fear Based Life,' features two tracks that are not just songs but declarations of intent, recorded by Andrew Solis and mastered by Nick Townsend. The cover art, a striking piece by Jef Whitehead (Wrest), along with additional artwork by Cavan Hoover, sets the perfect visual backdrop for the auditory assault that lies within. The band’s collaborative spirit shines through as they reflect on the writing process, emphasizing the synergy among the three members that birthed these brutal anthems.

The band further elaborated on the meticulous effort that went into this release, noting that the tracks were crafted during November and December of 2025. NAILS enthusiastically acknowledged the collective effort of their collaborators, from the stunning photography captured in Berlin by Duran Levinson to the layout crafted by their friend Martin Stuart. Every element was carefully curated to create an experience that embodies the raw energy of NAILS.

'Fear Based Life' is now streaming, with a vinyl release scheduled for October 9 via Closed Casket Activities. This marks a significant chapter for NAILS, and they are ready to hit the road, with a tour kicking off in the UK and Europe, featuring the likes of ROTTEN SOUND and WOLFBRIGADE.
