Stevie Young, rhythm guitarist for AC/DC, was hospitalized in Buenos Aires, Argentina, shortly after arriving in the country for the band’s upcoming “Power Up” world tour performances.

According to reports, the guitarist began feeling unwell after the band reached the Argentine capital and was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Doctors carried out precautionary tests, though the exact nature of the health issue has not been publicly disclosed.

Despite the scare, sources close to the band say Young is in stable condition and remains in good spirits. The guitarist is reportedly hoping to rejoin his bandmates onstage as soon as possible as the group prepares for a series of major stadium concerts in the city.

AC/DC are scheduled to perform three massive shows at Estadio Monumental on March 23, March 27, and March 31, with each date expected to draw tens of thousands of fans. The performances are part of the band’s ongoing global tour in support of their 2020 album Power Up.

Young joined AC/DC in 2014, stepping in for his uncle Malcolm Young after the legendary founding guitarist retired due to health issues. He has remained the band’s rhythm guitarist ever since, helping carry forward the group’s signature hard-rock sound.

The band recently wrapped a concert in Santiago before traveling to Buenos Aires, where the upcoming shows are currently still expected to proceed while the band monitors Young’s recovery.
