Sun Don’t Shine Unveils "Power To Live" Music Video; Features Members of Type O Negative and Crowbar
A new heavy metal powerhouse has emerged from the shadows. Sun Don’t Shine, the sludge-infused project featuring an impressive pedigree of doom and hardcore veterans, has officially released the music video for their latest single, "Power To Live."
The band’s lineup serves as a "who's who" of the NOLA and Brooklyn scenes, featuring:
Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Silvertomb) – Guitars/Vocals
Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down) – Guitars/Vocals
Todd Strange (Crowbar, Down) – Bass
Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Quiet Riot, Danzig) – Drums
"Power To Live" is a crushing display of the "slow and low" aesthetic, blending the atmospheric, gothic gloom of Type O Negative with the swampy, riff-heavy weight of Crowbar. The accompanying music video, directed by Abel-Bacon, mirrors the track's gritty intensity with dark, visceral imagery that captures the band’s raw energy.
The single is the latest taste of the band's upcoming debut full-length album, which is expected to drop later in 2026. According to Kenny Hickey, the project was born out of a desire to create something "unfiltered and heavy as lead," leaning into the natural chemistry shared by these long-time friends and collaborators.
