Red Fang Reveals New Album Details

The Portland, OR-based group RED FANG have revealed details for their third studio album WHALES AND LEECHES which will arrive October 15 on Relapse Records. RED FANG have always been masters of the hard rock hook and with WHALES AND LEECHES they deliver 11 killer, instantly classic anthems. Beyond the standard CD, LP and digital formats, WHALES AND LEECHES will be available in Deluxe CD, Deluxe Double Vinyl and Deluxe Digital editions which will feature two bonus tracks (see the full tracklisting below). Numerous exclusive packages including a Halloween pack and multiple vinyl colors are available via

For WHALES AND LEECHES, the band worked producer Chris Funk (Decemberists) and mixer Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon). This same team worked on RED FANG’s last album Murder the Mountains which Alternative Press magazine hailed as “a near masterpiece of tangled tar pit riffs and whisky-and-bong-hit vocals” (April 2011). WHALES AND LEECHES sees RED FANG further maturing into top notch songwriters and musicians. With the help of guests Mike Scheidt (Yob) and Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession), WHALES AND LEECHES further propels RED FANG into the upper stratosphere of hard rock and metal elite.

RED FANG will kick off the first leg of their fall headlining U.S. tour October 9 on the west coast (see confirmed dates below). Before the fall run--which features support from Helms Alee, Dog Shredder and Gaytheist--RED FANG will head to Missoula, MT to headline the 12th annual TotalFest on Saturday, August 17 and New York City for a special Converse Rubber Tracks show on Thursday, August 22 at 285 Kent in Brooklyn, NY (see all dates below).
