HIGH PARASITE Unleashes Chilling New Single Ahead of Metalfest Mayhem

In the depths of the U.K. metal scene, HIGH PARASITE emerges with a fierce new standalone single, "The Screams That Come," out now via Spinefarm. This track, drenched in gothic allure and infectious melodies, is produced by none other than PARADISE LOST's Gregor Mackintosh and mixed by the formidable Lawrence Mackrory, known for his work with titans like MESHUGGAH and KATATONIA. As the band gears up for their electrifying appearance at London Metalfest 2026, they promise to blend the macabre with catchy hooks that will resonate long after the last note fades.

Frontman Aaron Stainthorpe, a metal veteran who once roamed the somber grounds of MY DYING BRIDE, gives us insight into their unique sound. "We've coined the term 'death pop' to define our music; we definitely have a strong affinity with all things gothic and dark, but at the same time, we're collectively drawn to strong hooks and melodies, to choruses that stick in the mind," he declares. This dichotomy between shadows and sweetness is palpable in the new single, which Stainthorpe describes as a vampire's grin—inviting yet laced with razor-sharp danger.

Since the release of their debut album, "Forever We Burn," in September 2024, HIGH PARASITE has carved their path through Europe, leaving a trail of unforgettable performances on stages shared with legends like CRADLE OF FILTH and PARADISE LOST. They've stormed festivals like Bloodstock and Brutal Assault, and their headlining shows have solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with. As they prepare for a Halloween headliner at the Albany Arcade in Halifax, this may be the last chance to witness their dark enchantment live this year.
