At the Soundawn to Release 'Shifting' Next Month

Italy's melodic post-rock outfit, At The Soundawn, has announced that their latest effort, Shifting, which released in Europe yesterday, will hit stores in North America next month, on April 27th, courtesy of Lifeforce Records. Shifting is the follow up to band's 2008 debut, Red Square: We Come In Waves.
A new track off Shifting, "Mudra: In Acceptance And Regret", can be found on the band's completely revamped MySpace page, giving listeners a glimpse into this truly dynamic release.
Here is a short statement from the band on what the expect:
Shifting is what we live in. It is the unavoidable condition of a movement embracing people, cultures, minds and sounds. From the east to the west and back. We all are shifting. Gathering our thoughts on this condition, we tried to represent us, who we are today. Melting obscure landscapes and oriental impressions with huge streams of guitars and jazzy trumpets melodies, we shift from apparently fragile sonic architectures to solid super-rock yelling quakes.

Shifting was recorded last summer, at Studio 73 in Ravenna, Italy. For a behind the scenes look into the recording process, fans can head over to the Lifeforce Records Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/LifeforceRecords), and watch the latest installment of At The Soundawn's studio diary below.
Formed in 2000, At The Soundawn effortlessly commands the sounds of Mogwai and Tool, while combining them with the hardcore urgency of Shai Hulud, and the dynamic indie rock power of Radiohead. The result is one of this year's most intriguing and mind-expanding aural outings.
