The Gauntlet:: How is everything going?
Tim: Everything is going great. We are getting ready to go on tour with Threat Signal and The Agonist in a couple days. We will be out for almost a month with them. It should be fun.
The Gauntlet:: Anything after that?
Tim: There are a couple of things we are talking about but nothing has been confirmed so I can’t talk about it yet.
The Gauntlet:: I caught Flatline in Fangoria.
Tim: Yeah, they did an interview with us.
The Gauntlet:: Are you a big horror movie fan?
Tim: A couple of us in the band are. I am and so are Randy and Travis. They are super huge horror fans. I like watching it and stuff but my wife doesn’t so it makes it hard to watch.
The Gauntlet:: Are you more into the slasher or psychological stuff?
Tim: I will watch whatever comes out. Lately nothing good has come out though. I liked Rob Zombie’s “House of 1000 Corpse’s.” Man, I can’t think of others. I think the most recent I saw was “The Hill’s Have Eyes 2.” I saw all the Saw movies too.
The Gauntlet:: Are there any plans for a new video?
Tim: No plans right now. Probably not for another 2 months. We recently had a lot of our music on a No Fear compilation, I am getting ready to post that on our MySpace now.
The Gauntlet:: Is it difficult getting the word out about the band?
Tim: The more we are on the road the better. You can only do so much on the internet. Being a relatively new band is hard, promoters want to know how many people we can bring to shows. But we are getting better. We have been beating the crap out of the road a lot lately.
The Gauntlet:: Are you tired of touring yet?
Tim: Not at all. I can’t wait to get back out there. We haven’t gotten to the point where we are out there 11 months out of the year so it isn’t too bad. It might be a little different when we get to that point. We are road warriors now.
The Gauntlet:: How was it working with Logan [Madder] in the studio?
Tim: I was a little nervous going in there. He has a good reputation. I had to go in there first to lay drum tracks. I made sure I was up on my stuff before I went in there. I didn’t want to fuck up in front of that guy. It was fun and he did an awesome job. He is like the master. His reputation should be with recording the drums and the sounds he gets out. One of the reasons we went to him was the drums. We had a hard time getting a good drum sound out. He knows what he is doing.
The Gauntlet:: The drums and guitars sound really good on your debut album Pave the Way.
Tim: We couldn’t be more happy with that. We were really happy with the album. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I really love how it came out. You can’t please everything and there were a couple people who had a few issues with parts of it, but you can’t please everyone. I thought it came out awesome though.
The Gauntlet:: You guys weren’t touring for the last couple months, were you working on anything?
Tim: Yeah, we had a couple months off from touring and were working on some new stuff. We are trying to stay on top of things for the next time we go into the studio. We want to be prepared instead of have a month to write and record.
The Gauntlet:: The dreaded 2nd album. So many bands fail with it because they have 5 years to write the first album and 2 months for the 2nd and they can’t do it.
Tim: Exactly. Some people do well under pressure though and others don’t. Writing on the road is difficult to do. Some bands can do it but must don’t. If you don’t, you are stuck with a couple weeks trying to write an entire album. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. We just try to manage our time well.
