The Gauntlet: All Else Failed

All Else Failed Interview

All Else Failed photo   Band Name: All Else Failed
Interviewed: Pat
Interviewer:
Date: 0000-00-00

Previous All Else Failed Interviews

Mike SOS: What kind of band is All Else Failed?

Pat: A loud, noisy band that occasionally isn't very loud or noisy.

Mike SOS: Who are the main influences on your hybrid sound?

Pat: I'm not sure if any one band could be sighted as the "main" influence. We are all
into a wide variety of styles, and I think most of them find their way into what we do.

Mike SOS: What kind of audience do you feel responds best to the band's live show?

Pat: Teenage boys so hopped up on testosterone that they don't know what to do with themselves.

Mike SOS: What's on tap for you guys (new album. tour, etc.)

Pat: I believe we are going to take the next four or five months off to write new material and get our lives back in order for a bit. Then hopefully back into the studio in spring of 2002.

Mike SOS: What's the most difficult thing about being in a band?

Pat: It might be easier to ask what is not difficult about being in a band. Actually, the hardest thing is making everything work logistically between work and personal life and the time required by the band. That and replacing departing members every three months.

Mike SOS: Where do you see yourselves in 3 years?

Pat: Hopefully still doing what I'm doing now but on a larger scale.

Mike SOS: What advice would you give to a local band trying to make it?

Pat: If you think you might be making a mistake, you probably are. People that seem shady seem that way for a reason.

Mike SOS: What are you currently listening to?

Pat: Right now a lot of more laid back stuff like Sigur Ros, Red House Painters, some old 80's like the Psychedelic Furs and Echo and the Bunnymen, some Soul Coughing and just about anything involving Kool Keith that I can get my hands on.

Mike SOS: When I'm not playing in All Else Failed, I'm...

Pat: Watching Pootie Tang over and over and over.
