Silent Civilian Concert Review
It was twenty three years ago that I first set foot in the legendary Troubadour nightclub, and not since then have I seen a band completely own the stage...until now. Back then it was a budding Metallica with it's thrashy guitars, amazing guitar solos, and pounding bass. I didn't know what I was watching back then and vaguely remember it as just my first concert. Today it's Silent Civilian's turn. Fronted by Jonny Santos, who belts out soon to be classics like "Funeral" and "The Song Remains Un-Named" with some of the most intense vocal stylings heard in years. It's hard to imagine along with playing some of the most kickass leads on guitar, he also takes on the vocal duties. Not to be overshadowed is the ferocious pounding drums and beats from Chris Mora. It's hard to imagine that Silent Civilian has only been touring for three months as they play like seasoned veterans.
It's apparent with the CD not out for a couple more days, the crowd has checked out the band on MySpace as they are singing along as they throw their fists in the air. This is one band I don't expect to be seeing much more of on a small stage. |
