Dream Theater Concert Review

Previous Dream Theater Concert Reviews

July 27th 2007 was a night of progressive metal intensity as Dream Theater, Into Eternity and Redemption hit the stage at the Gibson Amphitheater in Hollywood, CA. Dream Theater is on tour with in support of its 9th studio album 'Systematic Chaos' released this past June. Dream Theater is a band that likes to change its set list every night, which makes every show unique. This one was no exception as the band ripped into some of its newer material as well as a few of its tried and true favorites with the audience singing every word. Guitarist John Petrucci was, as always, an intense scale master and shredder. Jordan Rudess is an amazing keyboardist who solos almost as much as the lead guitarist. The music was heavy, epic, and multi layered. Vocalist James LaBrie kept the audiences attention as a front man as well as delivering smooth, big vocals. With Redemption and Into Eternity also delivering equally intense sets, this is definitely a tour worth checking out.

Former Jane's Addiction/Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro was asked to take the place of Izzy Stradlin in Guns N' Roses after Stradlin deserted G N' R in the middle of the band's 1991 tour.
