Subgenres:

Take a handful of methyl amphetamines, hallucinogens and a couple shots of rubbing alcohol to wash it all down. Now hit the fast forward button and we're off like a torpedo.

Introducing Psyopus: heart attack-inducing, grinding metal, that conjures up whirlwinds and tidal waves of absurd guitar work, harsh vocal onslaughts and hypersonic rhythm bombardment that takes the term `tech' to an entirely new level. Crushing and outlandish yet perfectly concise, this brilliant debut composition is a glimpse into the calamity and anguish of a tortured psyche. Both eccentric and unprecedented, Psyopus may be Steve Vai's answer to tech-metal, coalescing equal parts metallic grind, core and speed with all-out shred.

From Rochester, NY--an area which has bred such extreme metal predecessor as Lethargy and Kalibas--Psyopus take some valuable lessons but then step things up to an unparalleled and somewhat indescribable level. Driven by astonishing talent and fervent passion, engineer Doug White (Earth Crisis, Buried Alive) might have said it best by comparing Psyopus to "Burnt by the Sun on crack but with more classical guitar influence".

Look for Psyopus to explode in a big way this spring and summer with extensive regional shows and tour plans already coming together
