“It's rare to find a death metal band that is simultaneously crushingly brutal and infectiously catchy. Aeon is one of those rare bands” states Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster. This statement couldn’t be any closer to the truth as Aeon are one of the leading technical death metal bands on the rise in the scene today. Aeon combines a mix of pure brutality and technicality that few can match. These Swedish masters of death metal are here to crush your skull, tear out your spine, and obliterate your eardrums and it couldn’t be more obvious in their upcoming Metal Blade Records debut Rise to Dominate.

Every one of Aeon’s riffs on Rise to Dominate is razor sharp and their boisterous solos are technical without being overdone, creating a sound that most technical death metal bands can’t even come close to achieving. Every track on Rise of Dominate is a standout and is filled with originality, neck-snapping time shifts, catchy hooks, and technical dexterity making it the album every death metal fan has ever wished for. “Rise to Dominate is a rawer and more brutal sound than we ever had” comments the band as each track offers a diverse and commanding approach to the technical death metal genre. Aeon is able to incorporate complex song structuring and finely detailed unforgettable facets which leaves the listener yearning for more.

Rise to Dominate was recorded and then sent to Dan Swanö at Unisound Recordings (Opeth, Katatonia, Marduk, Dissection, Dark Funeral, and Nasum) for mixing and mastering in the spring of 2007. Aeon will definitely be an act that one must experience live as their live show is as brutally punishing and exceptionally tight as their recordings. A feat that not many bands can claim.

Band history:
1999
During the summer members Tommy Dahlström, Zeb Nilsson, Johan Hjelm and Arttu Malkki of the recently broken up band Defaced Creation decided to form a new death-metal band whose collective goal was to try and create a more pioneering and varied style opposed to doing usual “old-school” death-metal (even though the band’s roots were in the “old-school” death-metal vein). Later Morgan Nordbakk joined Aeon to fill in as the second guitarist.

During the fall of this year, Aeon recorded their first demo, which included the songs “Return of Apolluon”, Eternal Hate”, With Blood they Pay”, “The Awakening”, “Bloodlust” and “Hell Unleashed”.

2001
In May a 6-track demo was released as a MCD entitled Dark Order through Necropolis Records. Dark Order sold out very fast, and today people still ask for this release.

Morgan Nordbakk leaves Aeon to be replaced by Daniel Dlimi (ex-Equinox of the Gods). This was good for the band since Daniel also was an experienced song-writer for this kind of death-metal and he picked up on Aeon’s concept very fast.

2002
This summer, drummer Arttu Malkki leaves the band to be replaced by Nils Fjellström.

Aeon starts to work on material for their upcoming debut full-length album.

2003
Aeon starts recording Bleeding the False in the fall.

2005
On September 20th Bleeding the False was released by Unique Leader. The album gets a very positive and strong response from both fans and media alike.

2006
In April Aeon hits the European roads with Cannibal Corpse and Prostitute Disfigurement.

In early summer Aeon part ways with longtime bass player Johan Hjelm.

In July Aeon signs a record deal with Metal Blade.

In September Max Carlberg join Aeon to fill the spot as bass player.
