During 2000 EMPYRIUM, SUN OF THE SLEEPLESS, NOEKK and NACHTMAHR mainman Ulf Theodor Schwadorf (a.k.a. Marcus Stock), in league with Allen B. Konstanz of EWIGHEIM, convened a fresh Gothic / Horror Metal project entitled THE VISION BLEAK. A first statement came in 2001 with the demo 'Songs Of Good Taste'.
THE VISION BLEAK signed to Prophecy Productions for a debut album 'The Deathship Has A New Captain', recorded and mixed at Klangschmiede Studio E. The concept, based out of Mellrichstadt, would seek inspiration from early Horror classics such as Frankenstein, Dracula as well as the works of John Carpenter, H.P. Lovecraft, Friedrich Murnau and Fritz Lang. Second album 'Carpathia' followed on Prophecy Productions in August 2005.
