Fresh from two solid years on the road and one helluva angry-bull snortin', punk-rock steamin', Skynyrd-meets-Motorhead album under their belts, NASHVILLE PUSSY have signed to Mercury Records. Originally issued January 20th this year on the small independent label Amphetamine Reptile, LET THEM EAT PUSSY, the band's debut, is being re-released. To make it special, we've made new artwork (the CD cover art turns into a poster, lots of new photos) and, for the first run, we've added an extra CD with two tracks from a hard-to-find 7" (an AC/DC cover and a Rose Tattoo cover).

Any Ted Nugent fan worth their salt will recognize the name NASHVILLE PUSSY from the intro to "Wang Dang, Sweet Poontang" from DOUBLE LIVE GONZO. The band is the incendiary combination of former Nine Pound Hammer guitarist and key songwriter Blaine Cartwright along with his wife Ruyter Suys, possibly one of the most explosive guitarists in rock today (imagine an Angus Young/Poison Ivy of The Cramps gene splice). Rock's most ferocious couple are joined by Corey Parks, a 6-foot-3-inch flame-belchin' bassist with a Harley Davidson "Eat Me" tattoo just south of the beltline. Jeremy Thompson, former drummer for the Phantom Creeps, rounds out this quartet of Southern-fried hell.

After being home for about two weeks, the band is bored and is ready to hit the road again. That's where they'll be if you need 'em...that's where they sell their records. With strong sales showing in a number of markets across the country (New York, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Atlanta, Milwaukee, San Antonio, Louisville and Austin to name a few), you can bet this is based on tireless touring. Yet, they're no stranger to Soundscan, already scanning almost 10,000 pieces. With the power of Mercury and PGD behind them, NASHVILLE PUSSY is set to become a puuurrrrnicious household name.
