Formed out of the ashes of Pittsburg tech-tech thrashers Sinning Is Our Savior, Crown the Lost was created by former Sinning rhythm guitarist David E. Gehlke in April of 2005. Hoping to expand upon the capable technical and melodic aspects of his former act, Gehlke would soon be joined by lead singer Chris Renaldi, whose clean vocal delivery would be the perfect match for Gehlke's fledging compositions.
Burdened by the lack of a steady and proper lineup, the duo would eventually re-enlist the services of former Sinning members Joe Bonaddio (lead guitars/vocals), Ryan Eicheldinger (bass) and Jon Rice (drums). With a full lineup in tact, the band laid the groundwork in the spring of 2006 for what would become their debut album, 'Reverence Dies Within.'
