The Orchid's Curse are a 5 piece metal band based out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada. The current line-up has been active and playing shows within the region since the Summer of 2005. On September 20th 2006 the band released their debut EP, ‘Goodbye is when the Casket Closes' on Diminished Fifth Records (An independent record label owned by the
vocalist: Josh Hogan)
Though the band members themselves would never bother categorizing themselves into sub genres, their sound has been described by reviewers as encompassing such genres as Progressive, Melodic Death Metal, Thrash and Metal-core. And their music has drawn comparisons from the likes of such bands as, Pantera, All that Remains, The Haunted, and Trivium to name a few.
The band will head on a 3 week tour this summer throughout eastern Canada to further promote their release and gain the recognition this hard-working metal band deserves.
