Metal Maniacs said of the band's debut, "alongside Iced Earth and Virgin Steele, Seven Witches are destined to lead the crusade of America's traditional heavy metal revival." With Amped, the east coast-based band welcomes new vocalist Alan Tecchio and bassist Kevin Bolembach (both of Non-Fiction fame); guitarist/founder Jack Frost (Savatage) advocates that their addition presents the band's most promising line-up.
Amped is grounded by Seven Witches' respected and outstanding musicianship. It further enjoys a solid production courtesy of Frost (his seventh producer credit). Recorded at Mix-O-Lydian Studios in Lafayette, New Jersey the album shows an expansion of the band's traditional/classic metal sound - this time opting for outward and various influences. It makes for a much more robust and rounded sound that can and will appeal to more than the band's already loyal and growing fanbase. Formed in 1999, Seven Witches signed with Sweden's Regain in early 2005; the band's back catalog recorded and released via Noise/Sanctuary.
