The Gauntlet: Watch Them Die Metal News

Watch Them Die join Exodus on tour

Watch Them Die Oakland-based purveyors of violence WATCH THEM DIE embark on a massive national U.S. tour early next month alongside EXODUS, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD and CRISIS. The group's new offering, "Bastard Son", mixed by Tue Madsen (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, HIMSA, THE HAUNTED), is now available and a video for the album's title track was recently shot with acclaimed director Kevin Leonard (DIECAST, WALLS OF JERICHO). Their metal crusade in support of the new disc began earlier this summer on a two-month trek supporting SOILENT GREEN.

Pat Vigil (vocals) checks in with the following report: "First of all, I would like to give SOILENT GREEN thanks for allowing us to tour with them. We had a great time and made some real friends. It was a sick tour that lasted almost 70 days and was unfortunately interrupted by Hurricane Katrina. Massive respect to SOILENT, as their homes were demolished. We truly admire their strength and for soldiering on as they did. On the way back home, we stopped in L.A. to shoot a video for the song 'Bastard Son' with Kevin Leonard. The whole shoot went very well, nothing too off the wall. We tried to capture our live energy as much as possible. Shooting in an old meat packing plant was a great beginning. Keep your eyes peeled for this video, and we are excited to share it with all.

"In a week, we embark on yet another U.S. tour. This time we are blessed with the presence of EXODUS, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD and CRISIS. We look forward to this journey and contributing to these countless evenings of sick metal. The second chapter of WATCH THEM DIE, entitled 'Bastard Son', was released on Sept. 6th and we urge people to give this record a listen. We have poured blood and sweat into this creation. Enjoy and behold our version of thrash metal. We look forward to seeing you all very soon, as we will tour like fucking mad to support this record."

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was briefly a member of Jethro Tull band in the late '60s. Although he didn't record with the band, he appeared with Tull on the Rolling Stones' aborted 1968 TV special, Rock n' Roll Circus.
