The Gauntlet: Cannae Metal News

CANNAE hits Canada

Cannae Boston-based thrashers CANNAE are currently wrapping up the last few dates alongside God Forbid, Sworn Enemy, and Manntis, and have announced a string of tour dates through Canada in March. The band is continuing to support its 2005 Prosthetic Records release GOLD BECOMES SACRIFICE, an album that Blabbermouth.net says, "...snorts, snarls, and kicks 90-pound weaklings in the face. As far as sheer heaviness is concerned, the quintet leaves bomb craters in its wake." Taking a heavier and more thrash-oriented approach on the band's third album, the new album features guest solos by guitar legend James Murphy and GOLD BECOMES SACRIFICE producer Jason Suecof.

Meanwhile, CANNAE's die-hard, do-it-yourself work ethic has taken the band across the United States and now brings it to Canada, with more inevitable live dates to be announced in the near future. The Canadian dates will wrap with an appearance at Sherbrooke Metalfest 3 alongside native Canadians Neuraxis, and Buried Inside in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

A planned collaboration between Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford never got off the ground despite being reported in the press.
