The Gauntlet: Caliban Metal News

CALIBAN announce tour dates and new album

Caliban German metalcore stalwarts CALIBAN have lined up a few UK dates to support their forthcoming album, ‘The Awakening’, which hits shops on 28th May.

Not even a year has passed since Caliban’s last release, ‘The Undying Darkness’ but the prolific five-piece are already back with a new album. Despite the fact they’ve been touring most of the time, the guys, particularly mastermind and main songwriter Marc Görtz, have been very busy, writing on the road. “‘The Awakening’ is a mix of all the stuff we do best” says Marc.

The band celebrate their 10th anniversary this year and are bursting with self-confidence. The new record emphasises that and showcases a skilful mix of anthems and aggressive metalcore songs which look set to result in those trademark circle pits and serious mosh action in clubs across the UK. Catch ‘em at the following shows:

Mon 25th June – Southampton Brook
Tue 26th June – London Islington Academy
Wed 27th June – Sheffield Corporation
Thu 28th June – Nottingham Rock City

Also on the bill is Parkway Drive. Tickets are on sale now from box offices and all usual agents and online at www.aloud.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Metallica's first album was originally called Metal Up Your Ass. When record distributors refused to release an album with an "obscene" title, the title was changed to Kill 'Em All in reference to the distributors.
