The Gauntlet: Acacia Strain, The Metal News

THE ACACIA STRAIN to hit the road with Caliban in September

Acacia Strain, The Massachusetts' purveyors of all things heavy, THE ACACIA STRAIN, will head back out on the road this fall with Germany's Caliban. The two will tour throughout the United States in September and into October with various other support acts along the way, including label mates LIGHT THIS CITY. Confirmed dates are listed and more dates will be available as they are confirmed.

THE ACACIA STRAIN previously entered the Billboard Heatseekers chart at #40 behind strong first-week numbers for the band's new record, The Dead Walk. Moving over 2,600 units first week upon the record's June 13 release, the band recently completed a string of dates alongside Soilent Green and Demiricous.

The video for "Angry Mob Justice," directed by Dave Brodsky (All That Remains, Bury Your Dead) earlier in May, is nearing completion and will be online and on video outlets shortly. Sure to showcase THE ACACIA STRAIN's earth-shaking sound alongside its quirky sense of humor, the "Angry Mob Justice" video is sure not to disappoint longtime and new fans alike.

    Hardcore Annal Sects

As Nirvana's Nevermind album was breaking nationally, the group was invited to appear on MTV's Saturday night heavy metal show Headbanger's Ball. Pretending to take the show's title literally, Kurt Cobain went on the air dressed in a ruffly pink ball gown
