The Gauntlet: Velvet Revolver Metal News

Slash Ignored Scott Weiland Before Booting Him

Slash (2007) Wendy Bird Slash forced Scott Weiland to leave Velvet Revolver by deliberately ignoring him throughout the band's U.K. tour. The legendary guitarist admits he pretended Weiland didn't exist before eventually axing the singer last month - blaming Weiland's "increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems" for the shock move.

Slash claims he was amused by Weiland's announcement at a Glasgow, Scotland gig stating the band were finished - because he knew they had no intention of splitting after ditching their troubled frontman.

He says, "We basically didn't speak a word (to Weiland) that whole time. We gave him the cold shoulder in the U.K. like nobody's business. There were a couple of arguments around the stage but, other than that, nobody spoke to him. I imagine he was quite uncomfortable. No wonder he didn't have a good time. Then, he told everyone in Glasgow that the whole band was over. We were like, 'Oh well, I guess we've got a surprise coming for you'."
