Dimebag's family sues Ohio club

The family of Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott reportedly is marking the one-year anniversary of his shooting death with a lawsuit.
An attorney told WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, he was filing a lawsuit Thursday on behalf of Abbott's family against the nightclub where Abbott and four others were killed by a gunman Dec. 8, 2004.
The civil suit, which seeks more than $25,000, claims the deaths of Abbott, the band's bodyguard, a fan and club employee as well as the injuries of two others could have been prevented if the Alarosa Villa had hired trained security guards, the report said.
Nathan Gale rushed the stage during the band's set and opened fire with a 9mm handgun. He was later killed by a Columbus police officer.
The lawsuit alleges the club's security knew Gale was acting erratically hours before the concert but failed to do anything to stop him from entering through a stage door. The suit also cites the lack of metal detectors at the bar's entrance.
