The Gauntlet: Death Angel Metal News

Death Angel needs you for video shoot

Death Angel Calling all die-hard thrashers in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area! DEATH ANGEL is shooting a brand new video for the track “Dethroned” with director Robert Sexton (THE DWARVES, AMEN, MONDO GENERATOR) and they need metalheads to star as extras. If you’re true enough all you need to do is show up at this address, 2275 Aliso Canyon Santa Paula CA 93060, just before sundown on Tuesday, January 29th. The shoot will last until early Wednesday morning and will surely put your headbanging skills to the test. Only the most experienced bangers need attend!

“Dethorned” is taken from the group’s latest powerhouse release, “Killing Season,” due for a North American release via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS on February 26th and February 29 for the rest of the world. The CD was mixed at Studio 606 by Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER) and mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering by Brian Gardner.

DEATH ANGEL recently added a second date to their CD release show at Slim's in San Francisco, California with reunited thrashers FORBIDDEN. The two groups will now play the venue on Thursday, February 28 — one day before the previously announced Slim's date, which has now officially sold out. Tickets are available for purchase here www.slims.com.

Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, considered the most important pioneer of heavy metal guitar, achieved his signature slow, heavy sound partially as a result of a factory accident in which the tips of his middle and ring fingers were severed. Iommi fashioned thimble-like prosthetics and relearned the instrument.
