The Gauntlet: From a Second Story Window Metal News

Update on From A Second Story Window Getting Jumped Onstage At Show

From a Second Story Window The official statement on the assault upon From A Second Story Window band members...

"During the band's set at Chaos Fest this weekend, the band was jumped by a group of kids allegedly over a small event the night before at a show in Chicago where a member of the band broke a ceiling tile.

I try to present these news updates with the most professionalism as possible, however in this instance I have to be a little more blunt. I personally (Guy) am extremely appalled at hearing about these events. Who gives someone the right to attack a band while they're performing? From what I've heard from talking with the band, kids at the show and just getting tidbits of all the random drama over the internet and my phone ringing off the hook, the punks who were responsible broke instruments, guitar heads, cymbal stands, injured their guitarist as well as other people not affiliated with the band in any way and busted the band's windshield. Apparently, these folks also posted videos of the windshield being broken as well as the band being jumped on the Internet.

ANYONE WHO HAS INFORMATION AS TO THE NAMES/WHEREABOUTS/CONTACT INFO FOR PARTIES INVOLVED, PLEASE E-MAIL Guy@blackmarketactivities.com or contact the appropriate authorities.

Though the band themselves claims that the event has definitely been over-exaggerated and sensationalized, those who're going out of their way to talk all sorts of shit on FASSW put yourself in their shoes: You stop for a tuning break while playing a fest to people who're your fans/friends and someone is going to take a premeditated shot at you when you least expect it. Random kids start jumping on you. You are a target and you have no idea who is against you and who is just trying to help.

The key word in hardcore should be respect. Bands give up their lives, jobs, relationships, etc. to take a stab at making their music their life. Destroying a bands gear, vehicle or jumping them during a show is totally uncalled for. There is a time and a place for things to be addressed and there are definitely more constructive ways than behaving like thugs."
