The Gauntlet: From a Second Story Window Metal News

From A Second Story Window Posts Update

From a Second Story Window From A Second Story Window has completed a good portion of the writing process for their third Black Market Activities release, titled "Conversations." The band has nine songs written thus far, with plans to write several more as they tour. Some pre-production has taken place in Ohio, with studio tracking expected to begin in January. Frontman Will Jackson comments on the album:

"The new record is shaping up to be a collection of songs that are really in tune with how we, as a band, are feeling right now. There are a variety of influences on this record, but the main thing we want to get across is ourselves. This record is a reflection of where we stand as a group, both musically and in the reflection of our ideas in general.

"The concept portion is coming along nicely as well, lots of ideas are coming together and the 'voices' are starting to live in their own realm as more lyrics are finalized and remembered. The basic idea for 'Conversations' is becoming more of an exercise in creative writing than a concept album, all the while trying to stay true to the form of traditional, positive, lyrical creativity. The songs, all written in short story format and involving a myriad of characters-- their dialogue being the lyrics of each song-- will show our ideas of how the times we live in are effecting the people who exist within them. To reflect reality is to be an artist, or something like that."
