The Gauntlet: DevilDriver Metal News

Devildriver Announce Upcoming Album Title

DevilDriver DevilDriver recently wrapped up the recording sessions for their third album, which we can now reveal will be entitled The Last Kind Words, at Sonic Ranch studios outside El Paso, Texas.

Jason Suecof, known for his great work with Trivium, Chimaira, God Forbid, and Bury Your Dead, is producing the album, with engineer Mark Lewis helping out as well.

Known for their uniquely sinister sound and dark subject matter, the band is keeping true to form with working song titles including "Damning the Heavens," "Cattle Call," "The Last Kind Words" and "Monsters of the Deep."

Says frontman Dez Fafara, "In a time when most bands are trying to be Metallica, Pantera, or Iron Maiden, we have made sure our sound is exclusively DevilDriver. The songs are faster and more riffy than on The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand, and there are also more solos. But with all the same groove that makes DevilDriver different." Obviously satisfied with the progress thus far he adds, "Working with Jason and Mark has been great. They know how to capture the vibe of this band."

The New Jersey punk trio Buzzkill was originally known as Butthead when they formed in 1990, but had to change their name two years later when MTV's Beavis & Butthead became a massive success. Ironically, MTV also had a grunge/alt-metal show called Buzzkill, which aired during the mid-'90s.
