The Gauntlet: Vader Metal News

Vader Frontman Checks In With Update

Vader VADER frontman Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek has checked in with the following recap of the band's Blitzkrieg 4 tour:

"With the toast (and vodka shots...) after awesome gig in town Nitra in Slovakia, Vader finished the last part of Blitzkrieg European tour in Balkans. These 17 hard days left great memories in our souls indeed. The borders in this part of the continent were real problem even for such 'old foxes' like we are. Blitz' 2006 was this year the promotional tour for last released Impressions In Blood album but also a quality progress of Vader's concerts . So we needed to bring lotsa equipment and quite numbers of crew with. A traveling by a big nightliner with even biger trailer in West Europe is not a problem at all...but in the South we had to cancel two of sixteen shows because of such 'logistic problems'. Many lost hours of waiting, biurocracy at the borders seemed to be a past in Europe...not in Balkans yet. We tried EVERYTHING to save shows but in vain. So we'd like to apologise ALL THE FANS WAITING FOR VADER IN BURSA AND - specially -IN SOFIA !!!! The reason why we couldn't arrive on time were all the problems at the borders....SORRY !!! As leader of the band I can promise, that we will do something speciall for YOU as soon as we will have an oportunity to come to YOUR countries!!! We all remember great time in Sofia last time and...we're gonna repeat such a Misterium !!!

And one more time - as a whole Vader Team - we THANK ALL OF YOU CRAZY MANIAX and all those bands devastaing the stages together with us in cities of Czech Rep., Hungary (Nasty Demonz rule !!!! Egeszsegedre!!!!!), Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Turkey ,Greece , Romania and Slovakia !!!!! WE WILL BE BACK !!!!!!!

And the next year went by quickly... almost like in 'Wings' tempo. Many things happened, but the most important for us was release of our new album Impressions In Blood and of course, the longest tournee in band's entire history. We played about 90 gigs in Europe and tried to satisfy everyone who came to see our show. And we succeeded, judging from great turnout almost every night! Four big parts of the tournee played in Poland, West & South Europe, Scandinavia and the Balkans. We spent a great time both with other bands and our faithful Maniacs!!! It was definitely great, unforgettable year for VADER! New 2007 year means new challenges. Tournees in Japan, Austrialia, South & North America are in the preparation phase. We'll play some shows in Poland (the final part of Blitzkrieg 4) as well. In 2007 VADER will also appear on many European summer festivals...

On behalf of Vader I wish YOU ALL strength, health and another Great Metal Year !!!!!"

Peter & VADER

Metallica's first album was originally called Metal Up Your Ass. When record distributors refused to release an album with an "obscene" title, the title was changed to Kill 'Em All in reference to the distributors.
