The Gauntlet: Black Sabbath Metal News

Ozzy to perform with Black Sabbath "supergroup"


Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne is set to be in the U.K. Music Hall of Fame. He will be inducted as a solo artist and as part of heavy metal trail blazers, Black Sabbath.

To commemorate this landmark decision for fans of heavy metal and hard rock, Ozzy will perform with a Black Sabbath "supergroup," consisting of Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N'ROSES)at the second annual UK Music Hall of Fame ceremony on November 16 at the Alexandra Palace in North London.

Other inductees include John Peel, Pink Floyd, Bob Dyland, and Jimi Hendrix. Other acts scheduled to perform incldue Alanis Morissett, The Pretenders, Jamie Cullum, New Order, and the Eurythmics.

Tickets to the event are being sold to the public and are available at See Tickets.com. Those who cannot afford the show or live across the pond may view the event, for the first time ever, on VH1. will on Saturday, November 26 9:00 p.m.

Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, considered the most important pioneer of heavy metal guitar, achieved his signature slow, heavy sound partially as a result of a factory accident in which the tips of his middle and ring fingers were severed. Iommi fashioned thimble-like prosthetics and relearned the instrument.
