The Gauntlet: Emperor Metal News

Emperor Return To The US Next Week

Emperor With Emperor's three American showcase performances less than a week away, final preparations are being made for the band's return (and possibly) last in the US. The band will premiere all new merchandise designs at the three shows (Chicago, New York, Los Angeles) with the addition of merchandise selections from Zyklon (featuring Emperor guitarist Samoth and drummer Trym), Ihsahn as well as other various related project and band recordings. Fans are urged to visit the consessions area early for last year many sizes and designs sold out early in the evening.

Limited copies of the band's stunning tabulature book, Scattered Ashes: A Decade of Emperial Wrath, will also be available for purchase at the shows. The 132-page oversized book is a must for any fan and aspiring guitar player. The book completely compiled by vocalist Ihsahn features double-staff tabulature for both lead and rhythm guitar as well bass lines for thirteen classic Emperor songs. The book comes with a cd for play-along while learning the book.

Emperor return to the US with the full line up, last year's four sold out performances missing guitarist Samoth due to visa issues. The band are looking forward to performing for American fans again and hope to meet many fans at each of the shows. Confirmed dates are noted below. Limited tickets are still available at venue box offices and via Ticketmaster.

Chicago - May 31 - The Metro
New York - June 1 - BB King Blues Club
