The Gauntlet: Emperor Metal News

EMPEROR AUTOGRAPH SIGNINGS ANNOUNCED

Emperor Candlelight Records today confirms exclusive autograph signings/in-stores for the upcoming Emperor shows. The shows, announced early December 2005, have been met with much excitement. Two of the performances are already sold out (July 14th's BB Kings performance and July 16th's Key Club performance). Fans are urged to purchase their tickets if they plan to attend soon as few tickets remain.

Respected by musician, fan and critic alike, Emperor recorded their final album, Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise, in 2001. The band shortly thereafter announced their breakup. Guitarist Samoth and drummer Trym continued to work together in Zyklon, the band's latest album DisIntegrate recently released, and vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn went on to work with the band project Peccatum and his recently released first solo record, The Adversary. Kerrang's Dom Lawson called Prometheus, " a staggering masterpiece; a fitting testament to the musical genius."
Candlelight reissued each of Emperor's four genre-defining albums - Wrath of the Tyrants, In the Nightside Eclipse, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk and IX Equilibrium in 2004; each featuring additional bonus footage and material unavailable previously on both European and US-licensed versions. Limited edition picture disc versions of the records are now available at select retailers nationwide and through Candlelight's recently launched online store (bring your browser to www.candlelightrecordsusa.com).

Candlelight artists Daylight Dies, recently confirmed on the Nocturnal Mourning tour with Moonspell and Katatonia this fall, will support both New York City shows while Starkweather will also appear at the July 14 show.
Recently signed Phoenix-based Abigail Williams will support the July 17 show at House of Blues.

Autograph signings are scheduled for 6pm in their respective city. Date and address details noted below. To purchase available tickets for the concerts visit www.ticketmaster.com.

July 14 signing - Borders Books & Music located at 10 Columbus Circle, New York City July 17 signing - Tower Records located at 8801 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood

Metallica's first album was originally called Metal Up Your Ass. When record distributors refused to release an album with an "obscene" title, the title was changed to Kill 'Em All in reference to the distributors.
