Dark Tranquillity news


Dark Tranquillity DARK TRANQUILLITY, the originators of the famed "Gothenburg Sound," recently completed a triumphiant U.S. with Soilwork, Hypocrisy and Mnemic in support of Character, their most groundbreaking and challenging offering yet. The group recently completed a new video for the track "The New Build" and look for it to make it Fuse and MTV2 debut next month.

DARK TRANQUILLITY checks in with the following end of tour report: "Hi all, we just got home from the highly successful U.S. tour and would like to thank everyone that took part of it. Massive cheers to Soilwork, Hypocrisy and Mnemic as well as the hard-working crew for delivering the goods night after night - see you all soon! Both us and Century Media are eager to bring us back to U.S. soil as quickly as possible, so let's hope that things can be worked out."

The following dates are now confirmed for the South American trek. Further countries will hopefully be added soon.

Friday, June 10 - Monterrey, Mexico
Saturday, June 11 - Mexico City, Mexico
Sunday, June 12 - Maracay, Venezuela
Tuesday, June 14 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
Sunday, June 19 - Bogota, Colombia

Also, we're now confirmed to play at the Metaltown festival in our hometown of Gothenburg on the July 30. This means that the festival agenda right now looks as follows:

June 25 - Fury fest, France
June 26 - Graspop, Belgium
July 9 - Tivolirocken, Kristianstad, Sweden
July 16 - Evolution festival, Italy
July 17 - Ilosaarirock, Finland
July 28 - Storsj?yran, Ă–stersund, Sweden
July 30 - Metaltown, Gothenburg, Sweden
August 6 - Gates of metal, Sweden
August 18 - Summer breeze, Germany

Seattle supergroup Mad Season planned on issuing a follow-up album to its 1995 debut, Above, without singer Layne Staley. For reasons unknown, the sophomore effort never materialized.
