The Gauntlet: Cannibal Corpse Metal News

CANNIBAL CORPSE recaps Australia/New Zealand tour

Cannibal Corpse We have just returned from a very successful tour of Australia and New Zealand. We would like to thank the guys at Soundworks Touring for doing such a great job with the organization and promotion of the tour.

Thanks also go out to Darren and all at Stomp for the help they gave us before and during the tour, and to the clubs and local promoters that helped make the tour possible.

We would also like to say thanks and hello to Psycroptic, Plague, and Ulcerate. It was great to share the stage with such killer bands while we were down there.

Finally, and most importantly, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the fans who attended the shows in Australia and New Zealand. We had not been to Australia in many years, and we had never been to New Zealand, so we were not entirely sure what to expect. The size and enthusiasm of the crowds was even greater than we had hoped for, and we wanted to make sure you all knew how much we appreciate that. We got the chance to hang out with a lot of friends old and new, and you all made the long trip and hectic schedule (8 shows in 8 days, with flights between each city) more than worth the effort for us. We'll make sure that we return to Australia and New Zealand a lot more often, because you guys rule!

The story line of ex-Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider's 1998 horror movie, Strangeland, was based on the track "Horror Teria (The Beginning)," off Twisted Sister's 1984 release Stay Hungry.
