The Gauntlet: Warbringer Metal News

WARBRINGER Comments on Upcoming Soilwork/Darkane Tour; New Album

Warbringer (2007) WARBRINGER have become touring machines in support of their Century Media debut, War Without End, and they don’t plan on letting up anytime soon. The band is currently on the road with labelmates FINNTROLL before they head out as direct support to Overkill. Now the band has announced plans for a new record and a massive trek to kick off 2009!

After WARBRINGER finishes their stint with Overkill, the band will be heading into the studio to record their sophomore effort. The band will then join up with Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun for an extensive tour that will last from January 30th through March 22nd. The band comments:

“The BIG news today is the announcement of our first tour of 2009 - kicking off Jan. 30 in Rochester, NY for 2 months we'll be out with SOILWORK, DARKANE and SWALLOW THE SUN. We're thrilled to start the year off right with a great line-up of bands and we'll be playing pretty much everywhere on that tour and getting back to some spots fans have been demanding of us to return, like Detroit, Denver, and all over Florida and Texas. Advance tickets are on sale already exclusively through EnterTheVault.com (on sale at regular outlets in late Sept.)

“In between OVERKILL and SOILWORK, we hope to finish writing the next record (we've got 6 songs done so far) and get into the studio in Dec. /Jan. to try and record the follow-up to War Without End and start another year of whirlwind touring. Thanks to all our fans for supporting us!”

Third time's the charm. This is fantastic news. I love SOILWORK and The Metal Gods have granted me a third chance to catch WARBRINGER. First date in my town they couldn't make it, second with FINNTROLL I couldn't make it. See you guys in Feb. Horns Crossed.

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was briefly a member of Jethro Tull band in the late '60s. Although he didn't record with the band, he appeared with Tull on the Rolling Stones' aborted 1968 TV special, Rock n' Roll Circus.
