FAIR TO MIDLAND has announced a nationwide headline tour starting in February that will hit major cities across the U.S., as well as two strings of tour dates as sole support for Serj Tankian around the U.S. and Canada. The tour kicks off on February 11 in Atlanta at the Roxy Theatre with Tankian. FAIR TO MIDLAND’s headline dates--in support of FABLES FROM A MAYFLY (Serjical Strike/Universal Republic), which entered Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart at #2--include shows at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, Emo’s in Austin and the Knitting Factory in New York City.
In the past 12 months, FAIR TO MIDLAND has performed at Coachella, Bamboozle and SXSW 2007, touring around the U.S. and overseas with artists as varied as Tankian, Smashing Pumpkins, Dir en grey, Chevelle, As I Lay Dying and Flyleaf. A December 2007 live review in Kerrang! raved that “…frontman Darroh Sudderth is a born star. Whippet-thin, prone to spasms and blessed with a might roar he leads his band through some thunderously technical rock songs… (they) play like they’ve already sold 10 million records.”
FAIR TO MIDLAND “…gave the world a big gift this year with its critically acclaimed album” (Dallas Morning News, 12/26/07) including first single “Dance of the Manatee,” which charted strongly at radio this past summer and fall. The band kicked this year off with current single “Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes,” added to rotation on KROQ in LA, and “are steadily approaching…greatness (Flint Journal, 12/15/07).” The rest of 2008 sees them touring extensively around North America, as well as appearing at major summer festivals in the UK and Europe.
