Motley Crue Expected to Record New Album This Summer

Motley Crue Motley Crue is expected to head into the studio this June and July for the follow-up to 2005's compilation Red, White and Crue. The eighties metal legends have been at work with rock producer Bob Rock, who produced the group's 1989 album Dr. Feelgood, and have a month of rehearsals scheduled to prepare.

"We need a month to get all the songs together and demo them, because there are lots and lots of ideas floating around," said singer Vince Neil to Rolling Stone.

Adding that the Crue, who have not had a significant hit studio record in seventeen years are determined that the new material will prove the band is more than a nostalgia act.

"We don't plan on going away any time soon," he says. "We're having a great time."

As reported by Rolling Stone, the Crue are also discussing a month of European dates this summer in support of the Rolling Stones' massive A Bigger Bang tour. The band then may head out on their own for a tour before reconvening to release the new album sometime in early 2007.

Meanwhile, with David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club) out of the picture, a new director is being sought out to direct the film based on the Crue's 2001 biography The Dirt.
