Slipknot Singer Blasts Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida'
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor launched into a foul-mouthed rant about Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and the band's latest LP during a TV interview.
The British rockers' Viva la Vida received critical acclaim when it was released earlier this year.
But Taylor is not a fan of the record, or singer Martin - and made his thoughts known in a profanity-packed U.K. TV interview.
He tells Zane Lowe's MTV show, "That is one of the most self-celebratory pieces of shit I've ever fucking heard in my entire fucking life.
"Go suck a fucking dick. Are you watching Martin? Suck it. Go eat a bag of shit.
"I fucking hate that album. It's music to wipe your ass to."

well, i must say that the level of intelligence you display is very small. coldplay isn't metal, don't treat them like they are. they are plain suck music. something to keep the kids on their weed and pills and depressed. it's terrible. slipknot may not be talented (i think they are very much so), but the fact remains that they grab a crowd whether it be with a cd or a show and move them. that's what it's about. coldplay puts people asleep. have you ever seen a video of them live?! no movement, no singin' along, nothing....just zombies. say something back, but i won't replay. coldplay sucks.

In the area of musical talent, Coldplay is better than fucking Slipknot. Slipknot had always been a pimple on the ass of any true metal fan, with their oversimplified "riff" laden nu metal bullshit. And Corey mentioning self celebration is pure hypocrisy...does anyone listen to his interviews? He's full of himself.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both Slipknot and Slayer (mainly Slipknot's self-titled and Iowa albums) but Slayer's music isn't very varied. Slipknot's last two albums don't hold a light in comparison to their first two (not including MFKR), but there is a couple good songs on their newest album. To say that Slipknot relies on their stage visuals is wrong in itself, as they never really used stage visuals before their Volume 3 tour (I saw them after the Disasterpieces DVD recording and they used no on-stage visuals). As I said, Slipknot and Slayer are both good bands but don't complain about the same "song structure" when Slayer's music doesn't vary much.

Fuck that slipknot are about commercial, and if not as big a pop rock act as coldplay. I seen them on tour with bodom and machine head and their music consists of the same fucking song structure for every one of their hits. Crappy intro, chug chug chug - harmonic - into big pop harmony chorus. They heavily depend on the crazy visuals in their live set to keep keep you from getting bored. Find a real band to listen to folks.
