It's pointless to argue this one out. At this point, Metallica and Megadeth are essentially in two different genres. I am a huge Metallica fan, and I enjoy the new album, but their best work is behind them - they're classic rock now. Death Magnetic is kind of like a surprisingly good new album from the Stones or Dylan that is kind of cool but will never touch the old work. Megadeth is still metal, but honestly, are they still good? Holy Wars has to be one of the best metal performances ever, but that was 20 or so years ago. The Gauntlet should post some of Dave's crap talking for a little fair and balanced reporting. Let's move on.

Fuck metallica. Rust in Peace alone slays their entire discography. Musical talent = Mustaine FTW. I'm not too big on Mustaine's vocals either, but Hetfield has absolutely no room to talk, his vocals were weak back when they actually had decent riffs, and now days all he does is "Whoooaaa! Yeeaah! Heeeyyaaaayeaaah!" and I think his soundcheck guy could and does do that better.

If you read the notes in "Master of Puppets", you would know that Dave Mustaine did not write a single song on that album. In fact, Dave only CO-WROTE 4 out of 10 songs on "Kill 'Em All", and just two songs co-written on "Ride the Lightning". Don't get me wrong, I love Megadeth. Mustaine is a genious. But, you need to get your facts straight. Oh...and every song on "Death Magnetic" has a guitar solo. EVERY SONG! "Death Magnetic" - best work since "...And Justice For All".
