Rocktallica keep selling records due to the fact that they sold out. Sometime after 1988 the band became rock. No, they are not a great Metal band, they were a great Metal band. Slayer, now that's a great Metal band to never sell out. There are a lot of true metal bands out that never sold out, Rocktallica sold out. To answer the question, they sell a lot of records because there are so many people in the world that listen to rock n roll. Metalheads, true Metalheads respect Metallica, not the band they've become. I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. Cliff would have left the band anyway if they wanted to go this direction. Look they even made a Killer metal bassist like Jason go homo. Metallica is dead R.I.P. 1988

I didn't like their new shit when it was just on line. I couldn't tell if it was good or if it wasn't.Now that I've heard the album it's all I want to hear. It's about time. They've done it again. I for one am stoked.

Why is it the one band that treats its fans the worst is one of the most successful? From refusing to sign autographs and blowing off fans at shows, to literally hiring lawyers to sue teenagers for file sharing their music, Metallica is horrible to their fans. Even on top of that their sound is totally sellout since the Black Album. If any other band in the world did this they wouldn't be able to sell a record ever. But these guys just keep plowing on and the stupid public continue to make them successful. It's disgraceful that these guys are still able to go platinum and top the charts. Simply disgraceful.

450,000-500,000 copies sold in just three days...not only to top the U.S. Charts but already certified gold, lets push those numbers up to like around in the millions mark and certify this bitch platinum, hell lets go for diamond status, Black Album did it and that was released over 17 years ago.
