sounds like ONE 2.0(the unforgiven st. horsemen years) it just doesn't sound natural. sounds like they just tried to mash up their whole catalog into one song. the riffs dont blend with eachother, the drums sound like they were recorded in a cardboard box, the vocals sound like he is reading them of a karioki machine. shit, the solo even sounds generic. it should have been called the metal that never comes. i had high hopes for this album, but now... ?

this is going to be an amazing album,,this is the ballad track .....just imagine how hard and heavy and fast the rest of the album is. Great stuff goin on in this song,,,,METALLICA = METAL AGAIN:)!!!!!!!!!!

I heard it on the radio yesterday and thought,WTF?At least they brought back the old logo. The album title is freakin stupid. As for the song,it does pick up...at the end. They've lost so much credibility within the metal community that they'd have to practically put out a death metal album or just a balls out thrash album.Course I haven't heard the whole thing yet either, but I agree that this should not be the first single off a "return to form" album.Yeah they've had songs that started off soft and then got better but the two songs mentioned were on 80's albums.Metallica hasn't made a true thrash album since '...Justice'.I think I've rambled enough.Bottom line,alright...but not impressive.

Sorry. This is a complete failure. James doesnt even sound like himself anymore, and theyve simply lost their musical talent they once had. I feel sorry for those people who think this is good.

Man, what they said is true. They are heading back to more old school thrash roots. I flippin love it. It is a bit slow and disappointing at first, but when it gets past the intro, its actually nice. But when it really hits, it is badass. But I can't wait for the next single. I mean, you can hear Cyanide of there newest album on there myspace, but its live. I bet you anything that the next single is Unforgiven 3.

If this is indicative of the new album it should be pretty good.Kind of a slow start but does pick up nicely, remember the brilliance of "Fade To Black" and "One" though. This as the first single is not a good idea nor as the lead off track.

Its a whole lot better than st. anger for sure. i can't wait for more new songs

They said that it was the least heaviest and most low key song on the album, so i guess we shouldnt worry if it isnt super heavy, but i really like it, sounds better then st anger for sure
  dissapoointed - 2008-08-21 12:35:08
ahh...they just dont have it anymore...

In 1979, Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra ran for mayor of San Francisco. Although many viewed this as a publicity stunt, Biafra finished a respectable fourth in the poll.
