DÉPARTE stream debut album, 'Failure, Subside'

Australia's extreme metal luminaries DÉPARTE are streaming their debut full-length album 'Failure, Subside'. The album, an imposing, deeply moving and crushing take on atmospheric extreme metal is streaming now at below.

Regarding the album, the band comments, "Our new album, 'Failure, Subside' is an exploration grief, isolation, and loss, shifting seamlessly between states of sheer terror, disquieting serenity, and crushing dissonance. It was written with a focus on emotional catharsis, lyrical honesty, and a thick, suffocating atmosphere. Light and shade, both in the lyrical and musical sense, play a huge part in what we as a band endeavor to accomplish, and I feel like this album captures exactly what we had aimed for right from the beginning."

'Failure, Subside' will be released by Season of Mist worldwide on October 14 later this year. Pre-orders are available across multiple CD and LP formats at the official Season of Mist E-Shop.

DÉPARTE recently announced Australian live dates in support of their debut full-length. The trek begins on October 29 in Brisbane, and continues throughout the country hitting Sidney, Perth, Adelaide, and more.

Regarding the tour, DÉPARTE comment: "After more than a year since our last live performance, we are set to tour Australia this Spring in support of our debut album, 'Failure, Subside'. The stage is where we feel the most at home, where we can truly express ourselves and create a deeply engaging, visceral experience for our audience. To say we are excited about this would be an understatement."



DÉPARTE (Sam Dishington, guitar & vocals, Michael Rankine, drums, Mitchell Golding, guitar
Jarrod Sorbian, bass ) was formed in 2011 as a 4 piece with the intention to create dark, brooding atmospheric black metal with a focus on intense, hypnotic live performances. As the band developed with the addition of a second guitarist, DÉPARTE began to stray from more traditional black metal ethos, shedding the face paint and incorporating elements from various other genres, such as post-metal, drone, doom and death metal. The new influences resulted in unique, emotive and truly powerful songwriting.

In their relatively short career thus far, DÉPARTE have already shared the stage with acclaimed international artists such as GORGUTS, ULCERATE, WORMED, PORTAL, NE OBLIVISCARIS and more, solely on the back of their first official demo released in November 2014. DÉPARTE's official demo, titled 'demo [MMXIV]' is streaming now at the DÉPARTE bandcamp page.
