DARKE COMPLEX TO RELEASE POINT OBLIVION OCT 21

darke complex Darke Complex deconstruct and re-construct an arsenal of genres into an intricate and infectious full-length debut, Point Oblivion [Spinefarm Records].

Distilling jagged alternative metal, booming trap-inspired production, electronic sheen, and hip-hop bravado into this landscape, the Houston, TX quartet challenges the status quo for heavy music with a multi-faceted style, deep vision, and multicultural background. They’re equally inspired by Slipknot and Linkin Park as they are by Travi$ Scott and Kanye West. First emerging in 2015 with their brash and brutal Widow EP, the group quietly built a fervent following, while garnering early praise from ARTISTdirect, New Noise Magazine, and more. Then, everything went dark. They actually shut down their social media, unplugging in a world where it’s seemingly impossible to unplug. The idea was to immerse themselves in the music. That’s how Point Oblivion came to life.

Now, the first single “Void” builds from cinematic synths and keys into a cybernetic guitar punch. Vocalists trade chilling bars before culminating on a sweeping and soaring refrain. Meanwhile, Point Oblivion opener “Dead To Me” begins with a squealing swell that quickly devolves into a chugging seesaw groove and searing chant. “Nothing Within” tempers speedy stop-and-start rapping with kinetic production and explosive riffing, while “Abandoned” resounds with a haunting chorus or a rich sonic backdrop. Everything culminates into a vibrant, visceral, and vital vision.

Welcome to Point Oblivion.
