W.A.S.P. Featured In Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame



W.A.S.P.'s 1984 self-titled debut is the latest in induction in Decibel magazine's vaunted "Hall of Fame" series. The heavy metal touchstone - famous for classics "I Wanna Be Somebody" and "F*ck Like a Beast (Animal)" - was the main target of the PMRC 30 years ago.

"We found out the reason the PMRC went after us is because kids knew who we were," comments frontman Blackie Lawless in the article. "That's how they work. They go after bands that have visibility. They make it their mission to bring bands down, but I don't think they were very successful. To this day, what they did was get more kids into music than had they not said a thing. "
