The Gauntlet: Pantera Metal News

Vinnie Paul's New Band's Name: 'Hell Yeah'

Pantera Former Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott has confirmed that his new band with members of Mudvayne and Nothingface has been officially dubbed 'Hell Yeah'. The group has been writing and recording material in Dallas, Texas for what will eventually become its debut album, tentatively due in March 2007.

Hell Yeah lineup is as follows:

Chad Gray (Mudvayne) - Vocals
Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne) - Guitar
Tom Maxwell (Nothingface) - Guitar
Jerry Montano (Danzig, Nothingface) - Bass
Vinnie Paul Abbott (Pantera, Damageplan) - Drums

A headlining tour is tentatively expected to take place beginning in March, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.

In a June 2006 interview with the Fort Worth Weekly, Vinnie Paul spoke briefly about the new group, stating, "I have been working with different people, and I really can't tell you who they are right now because we're in the middle of everything. . . The more and more I go along, the more I miss playing, but it's all been part of the healing process, and time is truth. And if [the playing] I am [doing] right now becomes the real deal, then I will get back to it very soon."

It should be noted that the new project's existence will not affect the status of Mudvayne, who have spent the past few weeks writing material for their fourth album.
