The Gauntlet: Mudvayne Metal News

MUDVAYNE ANNOUNCE TRACK LISTING AND ARTWORK FOR BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE

Mudvayne cover Hard rock pioneers Mudvayne are proud to announce the track listing and album artwork for the first ever fan-generated album, By The People, For The People which is set to hit stores November 27th. The highly anticipated new album which consists of several live recordings, rarities, demos, as well as two new studio tracks includes the first single, “Dull Boy” - was produced by Dave Fortman and recorded in New Orleans - as well as an incredible never before heard cover of the Police’s “King of Pain.”
The album is aptly titled By The People, For The People, because it is entirely fan-generated. Since September 26th, votes were cast and comments were posted to help pick the album track listing. In addition, fans submitted creative entries of art for the fan generated album artwork initiative. Today, Mudvayne is pleased to announce the final track listing and the official fan-generated album art for By The People, For The People at mudvayne.com, the band’s official site. The album consists of 16 tracks as well as 17 interludes that intertwine several demo and acoustic tracks, live versions of hits as well as two new recordings including the first single, “Dull Boy.”

Preceding each track is a personal introduction by Chad Gray discussing how each song came about. "The creation of this album has been very exciting for us because we were able to do something with our fans that has never been done before; you voted and we listened. By The People, For The People is not just a title, but a collaborative effort with our fans to create a special and meaningful album” said lead singer Chad Gray.”

By The People, For The People affords the Grammy Nominated Mudvayne a chance to give back to their loyal fans that have stood by them throughout their entire career, one that exploded in 2000 with the release of the MTV2-award winning video, “Dig” and culminated with the 10 week number #1 record setting 2005 single "Happy” off the band's last album Lost and Found. After a decade of touring and sales of over 4 million units, By The People, For The People spotlights the disruption of traditional media and the band’s desire to further connect with their fans.
Singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett are on tour with HELLYEAH for the remainder of 2007. However, Mudvayne returns with a new studio album in 2008.
