The Gauntlet: Ministry Metal News

MINISTRY's Al Jourgensen Comments On Grammy Nomination

Ministry Megaforce Records has issued the following press release:

Megaforce Records is proud to announce that MINISTRY has been nominated for a Grammy for "Best Metal Performance" for the song 'Lies Lies Lies'. Al Jourgensen is hard at work in the studio, but had this little quip to say, "Getting nominated for a Grammy is like getting the big, fat, wet kiss from your wrinkly old Aunt at Thanksgiving or Chistmas. You appreciate the sentiment, but it's not something I'd wanna have sex with."

Ministry released their new studio album, Rio Grande Blood, this year. Jourgensen's fearless assail on the Bush administration and the global reverberations of war were at the focus of the album. With the ability to cross genres from metal to alternative to rock, Ministry was one of the first bands to dominate both the alternative and metal charts at radio, topping both of these charts at the same time.

This is the fourth Grammy nomination for Jourgensen and Ministry, who were also nominated in 1993 and won the Grammy in 2000, and were recently nominated for The Great Satan last year.
