The Gauntlet: Machine Head Metal News

MACHINE HEAD name temporary bassist

Machine Head After a thorough audition process, MACHINE HEAD have chosen Brandon Sigmund from Bay Area metal heroes Hostility to play bass in place of the injured Adam Duce for this Autumn's highly-anticipated ‘Black Tyranny’ US tour. Also joining the band onstage to handle Adam's vocal duties will be Jared MacEachern of tour/label mates, Sanctity.

"We're really stoked to have found guys as killer as Brandon and Jared to help us through this situation" says Machine Head drummer Dave McClain. "We can't wait to get out there and give our fans in the States the headlining show they've been waiting for, especially with bands like Arch Enemy, Throwdown and Sanctity on the bill".

Duce's broken leg is healing normally and he's currently on track to rejoin the band for the rest of their 2007 tour schedule, beginning with their Loudpark date in Japan on October 20th. Their UK dates are fixed as below.

MACHINE HEAD were in London recently for the Kerrang! Awards, where they saw off competition from the likes of My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Biffy Clyro to win ‘Best Album’ for their current opus, ‘The Blackening’ (to accompany their other ‘Best Album’ award from June’s Metal Hammer ‘Golden God’ Awards), and the ‘Hard Rock Hero’ accolade in recognition of their illustrious career.

MACHINE HEAD’s ‘Black Crusade’ tour brings the band together with Trivium, Dragonforce, Shadows Fall and Arch Enemy for an arena run this November. MACHINE HEAD will also play a ‘warm up’ show in Dublin, prior to the first ‘Black Crusade’ date in Glasgow on 20th. Tickets are available at www.livenation.co.uk.

Billy Joel was in a heavy metal band named Atilla where he played the organ. The group released one album in 1969. The cover of the group's lone album pictured Joel and drummer Jon Small, dressed as Huns, standing in a meat locker.
